Independence House recently moved into a brand new building.

They would like to recognize the CCBCC for over 20 years of support by having an open house on July 11.

More plans are underway and more details will be coming.  Initial planning includes a morning car show at the facility, a tour of the building, and then a cruise afterwards with a stop for lunch.  There is no cost for this event.

Please register here if you are planning or interested in going.  

We need a car count so we can arrange the parking lot.

Please let us know if you are bringing additional people.

Time is 8:00AM – 10:30AM;  come any time leave anytime.

Nan’s has a wonderful selection of breakfast food; Lavazza coffee bar, sandwiches, buffet, and “North End” pastries.

CCBCC will have a dedicated parking space:

please park on the right side and back of the building.

There are picnic tables but suggest you bring chairs for yourself and a friend.

Cruise of Windmills on Mid and Lower Cape

CCBCC Mid and Lower Cape – Brewster, Eastham, Orleans, Chatham, Yarmouth – Cruise and Lunch

July 15, Wednesday

9:30 AM: meet at Drummer Boy Park, 773 Main Street (Rt 6A), Brewster. 

Note:  there is a Dunkin (15 Lower Road, next door to Lukes) about 1/4 mile east on 6A from Drummer Boy.

Roald Lokken will lead a tour to five historic windmills:

• Higgins Farm Windmill in Brewster.
• Eastham Mill in Eastham.
• Young Mill in Orleans.
• Godfrey Mill in Chatham. The Godfrey Mill will be open, and docents will be on hand to give a tour.
• Judah Baker Mill in Yarmouth.

The Marion Band has invited us and our cars to attend their annual British Concert, British Invasion, on Friday, Aug 7, 7:00-8:30pm. The concert will be held, weather permitting, at Island Wharf, across from the Marion Music Hall, 164 Front St, in Marion.  Should be a wonderful evening of camaraderie and listening to great music under the stars.

The following schedule is still to be confirmed, but could be:

4:30PM – possible dinner option, meet at BrewFish Bar & Eatery, 210 Spring Street, Rt 105, Marion.

6:00PM – meet in parking lot of BrewFish Bar & Eatery, 210 Spring Street, Rt 105, Marion, and then drive as a group to the concert area.

NOTE:  Bring your own chairs, bring your own refreshments, bring your own food if you plan on a picnic.

DENNIS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 68^th ANTIQUE CAR PARADE:  Join the CCBCC as we take part in the Dennis Antique Car Parade.  This is a car parade and moves fairly quickly (no walkers or bands).  Over 200 cars (antique, classic, muscle, hot rods, retro, etc.) usually participate.  Parade leaves West Dennis Beach at 11 am, winds through the villages of the Town of Dennis and will end at the Dennis Center for Active Living between  12 noon and 1 pm, for a car show on the green space.  Lunch is usually available.

You must register your car with Dennis Chamber of Commerce for the parade and get a OTO Beach Pass.  You can pre-register by completing a form (see link below)  and paying $15.   Or you can pay $20 on day of event at the West Dennis Beach.  The CCBCC is NOT handling any registrations for this event.

Instructions for CCBCC and British Car Drivers:

• At 9:30AM, the CCBCC will meet at Patriot Square Shopping Center, Dennis in front of Dunkin, Burger King, and Entertainment Cinemas, 2 Enterprise Road, Dennis (behind Cumberland Farms, NOT the Shell station).
• At 9:50AM, we will then go as a group to the parade starting point on West Dennis Beach.  Do NOT forget to bring your pass if you have pre-registered.

Weather is going to be gorgeous. A $50 on-line donation gets you a day of fun and driving over 55 miles of backroads Online pre-registration is preferred so we can prepare enough Rallye packets for the participants.

If you are unable to pre-register and want to take part, please come on out to Patriot Square at 9:00AM and bring $50 cash. We do NOT have credit card capability. We do have a few extra Rallye packets, and if we run out, we will do our best to fit you in.

The Rallye Cape Cod is a great driving event as you tour through back roads of Cape Cod and test your driver/navigator teamwork skills. The Rallye consists of a 3 hour drive around Cape Cod scenic/back roads, stops at 3 local non-profit organizations, whimsical quiz questions, timed start/finish, prizes, lunch, and fun.  The points do matter, but more importantly, you will be helping local technical students, local people in need, and local rescue animals.

ALL NEW EVENT:

• Brand new course – approx 52 miles, 2.5 hrs with 4 stops.
• Course goes through Dennis, Brewster, Harwich, and Yarmouth.
• New games & challenges.
• New format: event will be a team event; 2-3 cars per team.
• New date for our 5th CCBCC Rallye – later in the year to avoid the tourist traffic and the summer heat.
• New start time: 9:00AM registration open, 10:00 navigator & driver meeting, 10:30 start.
• The STARTING POINT is Patriot Square (in front of the Cinema), Dennis.  
  • Patriot Square can be accessed from Rt 6 at Exit 78 (old Exit 9), go south on Rt 134, turn LEFT at Traffic light.  
• The FINISHING POINT is Kream ‘N Cone, 961 Main St, West Dennis (corner of Rt 28 & Rt 134)
  • We will finish there, have lunch, and awards.

This is not a CCBCC or British car event.  There will be all kinds of cars: muscle, hot rod, American classic, etc.

The CCBCC will arrange a pre-meeting at the Railroad Bridge Park parking lot and then cruise in together so CCBCC members have a reasonable chance of parking at the car show in a group.

THE EVENT:

The CCBCC Freezing’ Fun Run For Kids (FFR4Ks) is an exciting annual fundraising event for Independence House and a great social gathering for CCBCC where we come together for a cruise and a lunch and raise much needed funds for IH.  CCBCC is proud to have a 22 year old relationship with this highly respected non-profit service organization that provides much needed services to abused women and their families.  Last year’s FFR4Ks raised over $6,300 for Independence House.

Important things to know:

• Pre-register yourself and guests on the CCBCC website so we know you are coming.
• Pepay the lunch for yourself and guests when you register. $35/person for lunch.
• Each car brings a gift card ($25 or more).  This is your entry fee/car to the event.  All cards go to Independence House.
• Bring an item for the silent auction.  Think of something that people will want to bid on.
• Bring cash or checks to pay for items you win at silent auction.  Credit Cards will NOT work.

Tradition demands that tops are down/off despite the temperature – that’s why it’s the Freezing’ Run.
